How in sync we were. Walking somewhere, moving through a crowd, doing anything physical or mental. Our energy was aligned. Like It This Way — The Story and Sound Behind the Song

Building a New Life

The Story

“Like It This Way” comes after the track “Don’t Need One”. We had settled into our new place and everyday life found its own rhythm.

Many of my days were my own again. I spent time at the creek, wandering through Boulder and enjoying my freedom. We were no longer in the middle of moving in and spending nearly every moment together. Instead, we each had our own space, routines and interests, but we also shared an enjoyable life together. Nothing had to be managed or forced. It simply worked.

The Sound

This is an alternative song with a steady electronic groove, deep bass and short rhythmic lyrics. The music reflects the easy rhythm of the story as it moves naturally from one moment to the next.

The Previous Chapter

“Don’t Need One” is the story that comes before “Like It This Way”.
