The Story and Sound Behind the Infinite Truth Song "Close to the Fire"
The Story Behind the Song
This is the second song from the album Year of the Scorpion. It comes after the song “Velvet Spark”, where our initial connection was so strong.
I still needed air, space and open skies. My freedom. The attraction was a fire that pulled me closer than I had planned. But there was something about this connection, both mentally and physically, that made me turn toward it instead of running from it.
It did not make my life feel smaller. I was not being crowded, watched or contained. It made everything feel larger and more expansive.
And so I stayed... Close to the Fire.
The Sound of the Track
The sound of “Close to the Fire” is alternative with a strong alt-pop pull.
The song moves with warmth and lift, keeping the emotion clear without making the track feel heavy. It stays open and melodic while still carrying the tension of the attraction in the lyrics.
The vocal feels clear, emotional and forward. The chorus opens up with a bigger, more expansive feeling, matching the meaning of the song.
It does not feel closed in or heavy. It feels pulled forward, spacious and alive.
The Cover Image
The cover image shows the tension of the song in one frame.
The connection is close, heated and physical, but it does not trap me. The fire is there. The pull is there. He is close enough to feel it all, but there is still room around me.
The attraction is visible, but so is the space.
